Perler Beads Photographing Finished Art
Simple photography tips for true color, clean backdrops, and straight-on shots.
You worked hard on the build, so give it a clean photo. A few small tweaks make your finished art look crisp and true to life.
Use soft light
Use soft light to show true Perler beads color. Window light on a cloudy day is perfect. Harsh overhead light creates glare on the bead surface.
Keep the background simple
Choose simple backdrops that suit fuse beads. Solid paper, a neutral table, or a plain wall keeps attention on the art. Patterns in the background fight with the grid.
Shoot straight on
Shoot straight on to reduce grid distortion. If you angle the camera, the piece turns into a trapezoid and the grid looks uneven. A straight shot keeps the pattern honest.
Quick setup
Lay the piece flat, raise the camera above it, and use a timer to avoid blur. That is it.
